i returned to a decision unmade
and marvelled at my earlier confusion.
it seems so clear now.
having found a path on solid ground
i set about walking.
the direction no longer mattered.
to the right lay the path of least resistance.
to the left, the path less travelled.
at either end, a door not yet opened
but no longer locked.
